Grow Tips To Know When Using Led Grow Lights

Grow Tip

1.How do I determine the right light for my grow area?

Measure the floor space. Multiply the length times the width and this will give you the square footage. You should be able to get decent results with 30-50 actual watts of power per square foot.

2.For larger areas should I go with a single large panel or multiple medium to small lights?

Using multiple lights allows you to better distribute the intense light in more areas of the grow space instead of having all of the higher intensity light concentrated in only one area while the outer edges never receive intense light.

3. Recommended Hanging Distance Above Plants

Germination: 24" Seedling: 24"-30" Veg: 18"-24" Flower: 12"-18"

Pls refer to How to Use Dimming Function Correctly FYI

4.Recommended Lighting Time

Veg: 18/6(on/off) or 20/4(on/off) Flower: 12/12(on/off)

5. Recommended dimming level

Precondition: hanging distance at 12’’-18’’

Germination: 30%; Seedling: 50%-75%; Veg: 75%-100%; Flower: 100%

6.Recommended Growing Conditions

The rate of photosynthesis and transpiration is directly affected by temperature, humidity, and airflow.

The perfect temperature and humidity for your plants are found between 75*-85*F and 50% - 70% humidity, with plenty of airflows to replenish CO2. PH is 6-6.5. You may add more calcium and magnesium than normally needed.

7.Please Note

The light may be too strong, please wear your sunglasses when looking at it.

Some LEDs seem dim. They are IR. The human eye can not see IR very clearly, but you can wear sunglasses to check.

Please be careful not to sprinkle the nutrient solution on the light board, it may cause corrosion of the light board.

We will updated this blog from time to time with new tips.

I use sp 3000.what pH is needed for dws? 5.7-6.0 ph or 6.0-6.5?

For DWC, the best PH is around 5.8
Between the range 5.5-6.0.

I'm using an SP 3000 with seedlings that are 4 days old. I'm trying to set the light height and brightness correctly. The recommended hang height for seedlings is 24" to 30". Item 5, dimming level, states "precondition…12" to 18" " and then gives 50% to 70% as the recommended value.
If I set my light at 50% to 70%, what is the hang height?

Fix one point: height or dimming percent.
If your height is 24''-30'', turn dimmer at 100%;
If your dimmer is at 50%-70%, hang the light at 18''-24''.

I would also recommend a clearer height/dimming explanation for the novice grower. It is oddly stated in the grow tips, especially for the newbies to LED lighting.
All other instructions are clear and the kit is an easy and uncompleted setup.

CORRECTION;
I meant to say the kit is an easy and un-complicated setup.
As to the height/dimming, do you have a chart that approximates the differential for all stages. Just starting a first grow with your just out of the box product.
Thanks,
Pecos

Thank you for the suggestions. We will release a complete instruction on this soon. :)

A detailed instruction guide, or a starting point, for LED lights, strength, height for each LED model would be very helpful and appreciated.

I have a 2 X 2 X4 grow tent. I have purchased a TS600 LED with a rating of 100w. According to instructions, I need 30-50w/sq ft of grow tent. So 2X2=4 sq ft and I need a minimum of 120w to 200w. Should I add another LED. I have a 45w LED grow lamp I can add. Thanks.

I have same tent size and have a ts1000 light. they say 147w from outlet but ts use only 140watt in 220v and dimmer 100%. so if recomend is 30-40watt sqf
So ts 1000 is minimun in a 2x2 35w sqfeet
