In 2019, Mars Hydro releases two led grow light series, one is Mars SP series, another is Mars TS series. They both use

new
SMD chips, using low current to drive while with a lot of them to make sure the whole light output is high. They

are both white
color, sunlike full spectrum suitable for both veg and flower or all stage of your plants’ growing. They

both put high PPE above
2.15umol/j, and they are all with no fan design. During the past months, they two series have

been tested and proved with great
growing results and become Mars Hydro growers favorite new lights, But, many of

the growers are still have confusion, what is
the difference between the two line? Now, we will give you the answer

below.

Cooling System & Heat Dissipation

They produce same heat under the same wattage, but the thick heat sink design makes Mars SP series release more

heat than Mars TS series.

Power Driver

Mars SP 250: MeanWell Driver

Mars TS series: Other brand driver with UL listed (international safe organization

Coverage

The coverage of Mars TS is wider than Mars SP if they hang in the same height.

Mars SP 150 (130w)

Core Coverage: 1.5ft x 3ft = 45cm x90cm

Max Coverage : 2ft x 3ft = 60cm x 90cm

Mars SP 250 (230w)

Core Coverage: 2ft x 4ft = 60cm x120cm

Max Coverage : 3ft x 5ft = 90cm x 150cm

Mars TS1000 (150w)

Core Coverage: 2ft x 2ft = 60cm x60cm

Max Coverage : 3ft x 3ft = 90cm x 90cm

Mars TSW2000 (300w)

Core Coverage: 3ft x 3ft = 90cm x90cm

Max Coverage : 4ft x 4ft = 120cm x 120cm

Mars TSL2000 (300w)

Core Coverage: 2.5ft x 4ft = 75cm x120cm

Max Coverage : 3ft x 5.5ft = 90cm x 165cm

Penetration

What exactly is penetration? It refers directly to the PPFD available at a given distance after the calculation of inverse square

and lens/reflector coefficients. And Mars SP
can penetrate deeper to plant from the top of leaves to bottom.

Water Proof

Mars SP series : IP 65, Water Proof

Mars TS series: Not Water Proof

If you are not good at controlling the humidity or if you are using the light in a high humidity growing area, Mars SP is

a better option for you.

In this article you leave put that SP250 has UV, whereas TSL2000 Doesn't.

Hi Joshua, we add uv in SP 250, but right now the TS series doesn't have uv

The ts series puts out more watts, if you get 1 gm pet watt you'll get 60 more with a ts 2000 than a sp250. Even if the efficiency is slightly better on the sp series 60w is 60w.

Hi Bignemo, the SP 250 actually have 50pcs more same chips on the board than TS 2000, the PPF output actually almost the same as the TS 2000 which is more watt than SP 250, so for the same ppfd output, SP 50 help you save more energy. :)

Makes sense. I ended up going with the SP250 as I'm using it in tandem with 2x Optic4's and 4x Optic1's in 4x8 tent. Thanks for the info

I just want to know is the SP 150 better in yield wize then the TS 1000 or not try to figure out witch one is the better won in gaining yield size.
Mars Hydro 8 months ago at 2:36 AM
The average yield of SP150 is 1.8g/w, TS1000 is 1.5g/w. So SP150 is better

what outlet fan can i use for co2 circulation?
Zoey 7 months ago at 2:29 AM
Air management in indoor growing is structured around three axes: cleaning of the stomas, air circulation and air exchange, as these are key to ensure healthy plant grow.

Based on the application, four parameters need to be determined for your reference. They are:

Fan Model
CFM
Static Pressure (SP), and
Loudness Limit (Sones)

Is the meanwell driver on the SP also UL / CSA certifies? Or only the TS series are safety certified?

Reply from Mars Hydro:
Hi Jim, all the Mars Hydro lights are ETL certificated, and over 90% components including all the drivers are UL listed, very safe to use. :)

In addition to the added uv chips the so also has infrared chips as well. This is a big feature that the ts series dont have.
